Our opera season continues this summer with the Lyric Opera of Chicago's performance of Vincenzo Bellini's I Puritani starring Albina Shagimuratova as Elvira, Lawrence Brownlee as Arturo, Anthony Clark Evans as Riccardo, and Adrian Sâmpetrean as Giorgio. Eric Einhorn directs, Michael Black is our chorus master, and Enrique Mazzolla will conduct the Lyric Opera orchestra and chorus in this production.

Airs Saturday, September 10, at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus are featured in Mozart's The Magic Flute staring Sarah Shafer as Pamina, Paul Appleby as Tamino, Efraín Solís as Papageno, Alfred Reiter as Sarastro, and Albina Shagimuratova as The Queen of the Night. This production also features Greg Fedderly as Monostatos, Jacqueline Piccolino as First Lady, Nian Wang as Second Lady, Zanda Švēde as Third Lady, and Maria Valdes as Papagena.

Airs Saturday, May 7, at 12 noon. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season closes with a live broadcast of Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail – The Abduction from the Seraglio – conducted by Met Music Director James Levine, who will assume the new title of Music Director Emeritus at the conclusion of the Met’s current season. Soprano Albina Shagimuratova makes her network role debut as Konstanze, opposite rising tenor Paul Appleby as her fiancé, Belmonte.

Airs Saturday, March 28, at 12 noon. The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Donizetti’s tragedy Lucia di Lammermoor. Russian coloratura soprano Albina Shagimuratova makes her network role debut as the title character, who comes undone in opera's most famous mad scene. Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja stars opposite her as Lucia's beloved Edgardo, her family's enemy. Italian baritone Luca Salsi makes his network role debut as Lucia’s villainous brother, Enrico; and English bass Alastair Miles is the chaplain Raimondo.

Airs Saturday, August 23 at 12 noon. This week the LA Opera on the air presents Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor with Albina Shagimuratova as Lucia and Saimir Pirgu as Edgardo. This performance also features Stephen Powell as Enrico, James Creswell as Raimondo, Joshua Guerrero in the roll of Normanno, D’Ana Lombard as Alisa and Vladimir Dmitruk as Arturo.  James Conlon will lead the LA Opera Orchestra nd Chorus in this production.
