Mitt Romney has announced the other half of his ticket, congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. He's been a champion of conservative fiscal principles as chairman of the House Budget Committee. The Romney campaign is now the Romney-Ryan campaign. The newly minted Republican ticket was presented at an event in Norfolk, Virginia. Mitt Romney named Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate beside the aptly named USS Wisconsin. In his introduction of Ryan, he extolled the Midwestern virtues of the congressman.

Murfreesboro Mosque Finally Opens

There are several other stories we're following this morning, besides this big political one. In Murfreesboro, Tennessee, after road blocks, law suits and threats, a mosque opened its doors for the first time yesterday. Now members of the Muslim congregation are trying to cut tension and bridge a divide that was exposed during the debate. Blake Farmer of member station WPLN was there for the first service.
