Airs Monday, August 12 at 11 a.m. This week on the Pittsburgh Symphony maestro Manfred Honeck is joined on stage by oboist James Gorton, harpist Gretchen van Hoesen and harpist Heidi van Hoesen Gorton for Eugene Goossens’ Concert Piece for Oboe, English Horn, Two Harps and Orchestra. Also on the program Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 6, “Tragic".

Airs Sunday, August 11 at 6 p.m.  Our nation’s power grid, the patchwork system that transmits and distributes electricity from plants to consumers, is aging and stretched to capacity—especially in summer months when users face triple-digit temperatures, violent storms and power outages.  
BURN examines the state of America’s electric power grid and the science needed to modernize it.

Tokyo String Quartet

Airs Saturday, August 10 at 2 p.m.  This week on the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival pianist Jeremy Denk joins the Tokyo String Quartet for a performance of Edward Elgar's Piano Quintet in A Minor, Opus 84. The concert will open with J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C Minor, BWV 1060 featuring William Preucil as violinist and Robert Ingliss on oboe.

This week on the Cleveland Orchestra Live, music director Franz Welser-Moest is joined on stage by pianist Garrick Ohlsson for a performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 2 in G, Op. 44. Then Maestro Moest will lead the orchestra in the Symphony No. 10 by Shostakovich

Airs Friday, August 9 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we feature an Americana flavor with new tracks from 3 Penny Acre, the Honey Dewdrops, and Rick Adams and some classic tracks from the Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Neil Young. We'll have  a concert set with John Wakefield & John Jordan and and a full blues concert with Buddy Flett and Josh Hyde. Then on Be Quiet and Play The Music we'll close the show with All The Pretty Little Horses. Join us for the Caravan, Friday at 9 on Red River Radio.
