San Francisco Symphony

Airs Monday, September 23 at 11 a.m This week on the San Francisco Symphony, Semyon Bychkov takes the podium and is joined in the spotlight by pianist Kirill Gerstein for a performance of Strauss' Burleske in D minor for Piano & Orchestra. This concert also opens with Strauss' tone poem Don Juan and we'll hear Schumann's Symphony No. 2 in C major. Opus 61.

Saturday, September 21 at 12 noon. This week on the Cleveland Orchestra Pinchas Steinberg leads the orchestra in the Le Coq d’Or Suite by Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky's Francesco di Rimini with Sasha Cooke as mezzo-soprano. The concert concludes with Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky.

Then in our concert hour we travel back to India Nights 2013 for a concert featuring Rajeev Taranath and Chitravina N. Ravikiran and in our final hour we’ll walk Along the High Ridges.
