Airs Friday, October 4 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we'll listen to new songs from Simone Dinnerstein with Tift Merritt and Sweet Honey in the Rock plus some classic cuts by John Trudell, Norah Jones and King Curtis. For Blues at the Bottom we'll flash back to Robert Johnson and we'll hear from Neil Young. Then, in our concert Hour we'll join Chitravina Ravikiran and Rajeev Taranath for a raga recorded live at the India Nights Concert 2013 and in our final hour join us as we visit with The Bricklayer's Beautiful Daughter.

Savannah Music Festival: Bruce Molsky Live

Airs Thursday, October 3 at 8 p.m.  Bruce Molsky was born in the Bronx and fell in love with old-time music as a teenager. He moved to Virginia in the '70s, learning directly from old masters like Tommy Jarrell, and seeing how music fit into people's lives there. He has since become one of the world's most revered fiddle players, and a specialist in the music of southern Appalachia. In this episode we listen to a 2012 solo show given by Bruce Molsky at the Savannah Music Festival.

Carnegie Hall Live: The Philadelphia Orchestra

Airs Thursday at 1 p.m. Carnegie Hall has announced that tonight’s concert by the Philadelphia Orchestra has been cancelled due to a strike by the IATSE/Local One stagehands. However, we will bring you an encore performance from last season featuring maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin who will lead the orchestra in La Valse by Ravel and The Symphony No. 5 by Shostakovich.
