Mozart Festival

Airs Tuesday, November 5 at 1 p.m. This is the authentic Mozart, presented like nowhere else. For The Mozart Festival, artists and thousands of visitors have come to Salzburg, city of Mozart’s birth, to celebrate Mozart: from the United States, Venezuela, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Portugal, France, Great Britain, Greece, Austria, Spain, and from around the world. It is one of the world’s most spectacular music events. Program features pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard with the Vienna Philharmonic under the direction of Teodor Currentzis in Mozart's Allegro from the Concerto for Piano & Orchestra in c minor, KV 491 and the Camerata Salzburg under Louis Langrée in Mozart's Symphony in D, KV 385 “Haffner.”

San Francisco Symphony

Airs Monday, November 4 at 11 a.m. This week on the San Francisco Symphony music director Michael Tilson Thomas takes the podium once again and will be joined by Gil Shaham for a performance of the Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77 by Brahms.  The concert opens with the Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin by Wagner and also features Schoenberg's arrangement of the Brahms Piano Quartet no. 1 in g, op. 25 and the Variations on a Theme of Haydn by Brahms to close out the program.
