Airs Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. This week's Pittsburgh Symphony concert features Christoph Koning who makes his Heinz Hall debut with the Prokofiev Symphony No. 1 and the Brahms Second Symphony . Pianist Gabriela Montero, who trained at the Royal Academy of Music and is known for her incredible improvisations, returns to Heinz Hall to perform Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3.

Airs Monday, March 18 at 11 a.m.  Leonard Slatkin takes the podium this week to lead the orchestra in Josef Haydn’s Symphony No. 67 and Alan Hovhaness’ Symphony No. 2, “Mysterious Mountain.”  Flute sensation James Galway will take the spotlight as soloist for the Flute Concerto No. 2 by Mozart and also on the program, Georges Bizet’s Carmen Fantasy.
