Airs Monday, June 30 at 11 a.m.  This week on our broadcast concert by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, composer and conductor John Adams will lead the orchestra his own works, Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Harmonielehre. He'll be joined on stage by violinist Andrés Cárdenes for the Violin Concerto in D Major by Igor Stravinsky and the concert will also feature Frank Zappa’s Dupree’s Paradise.

Airs Monday, June 23 at 11 a.m. This week on the next broadcast concert by the Pittsburgh Symphony, Mariss Jansons will lead the orchestra in works by Schubert and Brahms. The concert opens with Schubert’s Overture in C Major “In the Italian Style,” and then we'll hear the Symphony No. 3 by Brahms and we close by returning to Schubert for his Symphony No. 9. We'll also hear some archival recordings featuring violinist Sidney Harth joined by pianist Harry Franklin for Richard Strauss’ Sonata in E-flat major, Op. 18 for Violin and Piano.

Pianist Benjamin Hochman will be the guest soloist for Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto (Left Hand Alone).

Airs Monday, June 9 at 11 a.m.  On this week's broadcast concert by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra maestra Lorin Maazel will lead the orchestra in the Symphony No. 7 by Antonin Dvorak and the Cello Concerto No. 2 by Dmitri Shostakovich with Enrico Dindo as the soloist. Mr. Dindo will also perform the Allemande from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cello Suite No. 6 in D Major (BWV 1012) and the Sarabande from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major (BWV 1007).
