Programs for Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, &  New Years which celebrate our diverse culture through the sacred and secular, classical, jazz, folk, world, and popular music, story telling, drama, humor, cooking, religion, philosophy, and more. Harmonia: Seasonal Settings and Angelic Appearances

Airs Sunday, December 22 at 10 a.m. Harmonia celebrates the holidays with seasonal settings and angelic appearances.  We'll hear renaissance composers' settings of chants for Christmas and behold earthly visitations by angels bringing glad tidings.  We'll conclude with a retelling of The Christmas Story, our featured release by Theater of Voices and Ars Nova Copenhagen.

Featuring music by Heinrich Finck, Heinrich Isaac, Francisco Guerrero, Antonio Coma, and much more.  Performed by The Rose Ensemble, the Theater of Voices, Francesco Tasini, Bernard Fouccroulle, the Tudor Consort, Oxford Camerata, and more.

Paul Winter Solstice Special

Airs Friday, December 20 at 9 p.m. The holiday tradition continues with Paul Winter's Winter Solstice Celebration. A dynamic musical celebration in the extraordinary acoustics of the worlds largest Gothic cathedral - New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine.  Hear a unique exploration of the solstice tradition in cultures near and far. The Paul Winter Consort is joined by musicians from all over the world, including Russia's Dimitri Pokrovsky Ensemble and gospel singer Theresa Thomasson. John Schaefer hosts the production from Living Music and Murray Street.
