Dr. Beverly Burden

Airs Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 6 p.m. Once again Dr. Beverly Burden, an Associate Professor of Biology at LSUS and our resident entomologist, joined Bill Beckett to discuss our insect world, both friendly and fiendish. We'll talk about what's new in the insect world and we'll took forward to your calls and questions about "What's Bugging You" at 800-552-8502.

From Last November

Most of the time I communicate with you about the insect world, I am telling you not to worry about them. Attached is a photograph of the puss caterpillar, DO NOT TOUCH IT! The “hairs” are actually spines that break off and have a venom gland at the base. The symptoms can range from burning skin to convulsions. I found one today crawling up the outside front window glass of the bookstore.
