Songs from the Soul & A Dream and a Promise

Airs Monday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m.  Celebrating Martin Luther King Day with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Songs from the Soul features Robert Sims, baritone and Gold Medal winner of the American Traditions Competition. Highly praised for his moving interpretations of African American spirituals, he joins the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in performances of "The Gospel Train;" "Deep River;" "Is There Anybody Who Loves My Jesus;" "I Gotta Home In-a Dat Rock;" "Down to the River to Pray;" and " Glory, Glory, Hallelujah."

On A Dream and a Promise The Mormon Tabernacle Choir welcomes Tony-award winning baritone Brian Stokes Mitchell and internationally-renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves. Each artist's musical versatility and charm are highlighted in this spectacular concert with performances of "The Impossible Dream" from Man of La Mancha, "Redeemer of Israel," "Lead, Kindly Light" and "The Wheels of a Dream" from Ragtime.
