The Community Foundation of North Louisiana is organizing its third year of “Give for Good” day. That’s a 24-hour online fundraising blitz to help area nonprofits.
The goal is to raise as much money as possible on Tuesday, May 3. The Community Foundation said in a news release it will put up matching funds -- more than $225,000 -- to raise the stakes.
The Shreveport-based philanthropy organization says it wants to raise the profile of 501c3s and connect with a new generation of donors.
The minimum donation is $10, and the money is only accepted online through the Community Foundation's giving website at www.giveforgoodnla.org.
The event will have a robust social media presence with a live leaderboard to track money flowing in. Last year, Give For Good raised more than $1 million and this year the Community Foundation says the goal is $2 million.
