The Mozart Festival

Airs, Saturday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. The Mozart Festival is recorded in Mozart's hometown of Salzburg, Austria and includes performances by some of the world's leading soloists and orchestras, backstage clips with performers, and location-recorded features touring the Mozarteum Foundation's priceless collections, including Mozart's original manuscripts and personal possessions. On This Weeks program we'll hear Pablo Heras-Casado who leads the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Mozart's Overture to Idomeneo; Violinist Carolin Widmann joins conductor Louis Langrée and the Camerata Salzburg in the Allegro from Mozart's Violin Concerto in G; Soprano Mojca Erdmann will join conductor David Afkham and the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg in Mozart's Aria, “Vedrai carino” from Don Giovanni; János Czifra Kapellmeister of the Salzburg Soloists, Chorus and Orchestra will be featured in the Kyrie from Mozart's Mass in C; and Louis Langrée returns to lead the Camerata Salzburg in Mozart's Symphony in C, KV 338.
