TRUMP TAX TALK-  As the GOP Tax plans are being hashed out in conference committees in Washington, D.C.  There’s no shortage of discussion as to how the Tax Reforms  will affect people and businesses.   Two  Louisiana  Republican  Senators  have appeared on national news  talkshows  Monday  offering  praise  to the Republican Tax Reform  bill.  Louisiana  Senator  Bill Cassidy appeared on CNBC and had this to say. "When people open up their paychecks, and they see beginning next year there's more in their paycheck — not for everybody but for most people. Add to that the corporate growth that then translates into better jobs, because there's more competition for workers,"

Meanwhile, Senator Steve Scalise (R-La.) had this to say on the Fox Network: "We have the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world, and what that's meant is the erosion of our middle class. This bill pushes a lot more tax relief to middle class families. If you're paying taxes, your tax rate is going to go down. Every tax rate will be cut."  But according to current analyses,  both bills will ultimately give 80% plus of  tax cuts to those making $100,000 a year or more while raising taxes on those who make $40,000 a year or less. When the Senators were asked about this analysis, each shifted the topic to President Trump.  Here's what Senator Cassidy had to say: "The corporates love it. The small businesses, who are job growth engines — they've loved Trump since he got elected, on the other hand, there is a resist movement.

You have a lot of folks who hate Trump so much, that if Trump said, ‘Let's close the window,’ on a snowy day, they would say, 'Oh, my gosh! We don't want to do that.'"  And Senator Scalise said: "He campaigned on this. He said, 'I'm going to cut tax rates across the board." Both Senators feel the Republican Tax plan will be on the President's desk before Christmas.  Both  Senators  expect  the  new  tax  bill  to be  on  President  Trump’s  desk  before  Christmas.  Public Radio WRKF  Contributed  to  this  report.
