Ebola 101: A Free Public Forum on Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m., at Sci-Port

Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe, often fatal illness in humans. With the first case on American soil emerging in Dallas, Sci-Port: Louisiana's Science Center is partnering with LSU Health Shreveport and Red River Radio to present a free public forum on Ebola at Sci-Port's IMAX Dome Theatre. The one-hour Ebola 101 Forum is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m.

Red River Radio's Kate Archer Kent will moderate  a panel of experts featuring Dr. Martha M. Whyte, director of Region 7 Office of Public Health; Gerald A. Capraro, Ph.D., director of the clinical microbiology and diagnostic virology laboratory at LSU Health Shreveport; and Dr. John A. Vanchiere, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at LSU Health Shreveport.
