Christmas Crooners

Airs Friday, December 25, at 9 p.m. It's impossible to think of Christmas without timeless voices like Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole. On Christmas Crooners, host and producer Jim Raposa digs into his personal vault of archival interviews with music legends of the past, and their families, to capture the essence of the music that shaped the soundtrack of the holiday season.

In this one hour special, exclusive to PRX, you'll hear Andy Williams explain his proud association with what he called "the longest holiday we have," plus Andy divulges the nickname Dean Martin gave Andy in honor of his long standing association with the Holiday season.

Speaking of Dino, his daughter, Deana Martin reveals how traditional the Martin homestead was -- especially on Christmas Eve. Jazz legend Mel Torme offers his reflections on long-time friend, Nat King Cole. You'll also hear Nat explain how honored he is to be tied to Torme and Robert Wells' holiday standard, The Christmas Song.

All of that and more are part of this heartwarming program offering.
