Carnegie Hall Live: Baroque Unlimited II: Before Bach with Jordi Savall

Airs Thursday, July 23, at 1 p.m. This Week on Carnegie Hall Live, very old music sounds very new when conductor and viola de gamba soloist Jordi Savall leads the Le Concert des Nations in a feast of French Baroque music with Lully's Suite from Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme; Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turque; Premiere Air des Espagnols; Second Air des Espagnols; L'entrée des Scaramouches; and Chaconne des Scaramouches; as well as Couperin's Prelude from Deuxième concert royal; Musette from Troisième concert royal; and the Chaconne légère from Troisième concert royal. There will also be works by Marais, Rameau, Leclair, and Forqueray. Mark Morris will guest host the next concert featuring Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations on Carnegie Hall Live.
