Airs Thursday, March 2, 2017, at 6 p.m.  Type-2 diabetes is taking on epidemic proportions around the world, and South Asia is at its epicentre – a visit to Sri Lanka shows a country where one in ten adults have the disease. Then we head to the Pacific Kingdom of Tonga, home to some of the most obese people on the planet. With around 90% of Tongans overweight or obese, and with rates of diabetes in adults approaching 40%, these isolated paradise islands are the unlikely setting for an acute health crisis.
