ArkLaTex Music Heritage Festival Returns For Second Year In Shreveport

ARKLATEX MUSIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL - The Ark-La-Tex Music Heritage Festival returns to the Red RIver District in downtown Shreveport for a second year in celebration regional musicians who have helped shape the local music scene and have made a mark nationwide and internationally.  There will be more than 60 bands performing during the three day event which kicks off at 5pm under the Texas Street Bridge and lasts all day Saturday and Sunday.  A special ceremony will take place at 8pm Friday as several area performers will be given recognition for their contributions to area music heritage.

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
