Wally moved to Shreveport in the fall of 1994 from Wisconsin. He started with Red River Radio in November 1999. Wally enjoys listening to music, playing golf, umpiring high school and college baseball games, and he likes to read "anything by Stephen King or Tom Clancy." You also will find him cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Aired Thursday, October 15, at 8:00 p.m. Guitarist Steve Howell along with guest artist Dan Sumner joined hosts Wally Derleth and Bill Beckett for a live show on Red River Radio. Howell presents a delicate blend of roots music from country, blues and rockabilly to torch songs. In 2011, his CD "Since I Saw You Last" was awarded the Historical Significance Award from the Academy of Texas Music. Support live, local music on the radio.

Airs Wednesday, October 14, at 8 p.m.  Join us once again for an electrified performance as AJ & The Two Tone Blues Band take to the air waves. AJ and the Two Tone Blues Band have maintained a prestigious career over the years and have played the Sonny Boy Blues Society Battle of the Bands Competition, the King Biscuit Blues Festival and the International Blues Competition in Memphis. They are well know throughout the region and always inject high voltage into our pledge drives.

Airs Tuesday, October 13, at 8:00 p.m. Barbara Jarrell &  Cookie Garner, AKA Cookie Jar, will join hosts Wally Derleth and Bill Beckett for a live show on Red River Radio. They'll presents a blend of acoustic originals mixed with folk, classic pop and roots Americana covers for a delightful and fun evening of music. Support live, local music on the radio.

Airs Friday, October 9, at 8 p.m. Pipp plays traditional cowboy music on guitar, banjo, harmonica, and bones. Pipp and his late brother, Guy Gillette, recorded eight albums of cowboy music and were recipients of the Western Heritage Wrangler Award for Best Traditional Album of 2010. They also received the 2012 Wrangler Award for Best Outstanding Original Western Composition for their performance of the song, Trade Off, penned by Waddie Mitchell. Pipp Gillette raises cattle on the family ranch near Lovelady, Texas, where his grandfather started in 1912.

Airs Thursday, October 8, at 8 p.m. Twang Darkly returns to Red River Radio for a live performance of their unique blend of original instrumental music that has been described as "Interplanetary Mountain Music." Twang Darkly features Michael Futreal on Appalachian dulcimer, banjo, gourdtar, guitar, harmonica, flute, and suchlike; Lane Bayliss on drums; and Joel Boultinghouse on the big ol' string bass and electric guitars.
