More than 500 members of the Louisiana Library Association will meet in Shreveport for a three-day conference that will focus on how libraries provide access to information and help patrons navigate a broad landscape of resources.
Five students from the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts will get an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., to compete in the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl at the end of April. The students beat out 25 teams to advance. The coach says this is the school's fourth trip to the National Science Bowl.
Shreveport-based photographer Neil Johnson will receive the 2012 Michael P. Smith Documentary Photography from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.
