The combined choirs will be joined by an interfaith roster of spiritual leaders and a cast of celebrated vocal artists. The radio broadcast will be hosted by 11 year-old Masha Lakisova, a talented violinist and engaging speaker. These celebrated choirs will feature a diversity of American song in remembrance of children lost to violence. The concert will include a newly commissioned ‘mass in remembrance’ by composer Lita Grier. Nearly three hundred musicians will devote this musical memorial to the families and friends of the children and teachers lost to violence at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. The beauty and solace of music, especially music made by young people, has the power to heal.

Tue, 15 Jan 2013 17:00:00 +0000 21946 at http://redriverradio.org Healing the Broken-Hearted What Was I Thinking for January 10, 2013 http://redriverradio.org/post/what-was-i-thinking-january-10-2013
Commentator Brian O'Nuanain reflects on the Newtown tragedy on the ensuing debate over gun control.

Thu, 10 Jan 2013 13:35:00 +0000 Brian O' Nuanain & Brian 22067 at http://redriverradio.org What Was I Thinking for January 10, 2013
