The area's interdenominational women's Bible Study Fellowship group is registering for its study on the gospel of John, which will begin Sept. 14. The group's base class meets in Monroe, with satellite discussion groups also meeting in Ruston, West Monroe and Alexandria-Pineville. Participants come from central Louisiana to south Arkansas. Special welcome sessions that include class registration are as follows: - Monroe class – Sept. 14 from 9:10-11 a.m., First United Methodist Church, 3900 Loop Road. - West Monroe satellite group – Sept.14 from 6:30-8 p.m., First United United Methodist Church, 1411 Glenwood Drive. - Ruston satellite group – Sept. 16 from 10-11:30 a.m., John Knox Presbyterian Church, 2106 Cooktown Road. - Alexandria-Pineville satellite group – Sept. 16 from 10-11:30 a.m., First United Methodist Church of Pineville, 2550 Monroe Highway. Child care and children's classes are available at the base class in Monroe. People are welcome regardless of the church that they now attend, whether or not they currently have a church home, or whether they are discovering God's word for the first time or have studied the Bible over a lifetime. BSF is an in-depth study that has a four-pronged approach: personal study, small-group discussions, lectures and printed lesson notes. Across the globe more than 1,000 BSF classes meet in 39 countries. It has been in existence for more than 50 years.
