This course provides an overview of digital audio technology and the conceptual design of analog to digital and digital to analog converters. Students examine the editing and constructing of digital sound samples from live sources. The use of the computer and digital recording and editing software as well as the basic elements of MIDI are covered. Students receive hands-on experience in a digital audio workstation environment. This course is open to both credit and non-credit students. Non-credit students must already be proficient in audio production. Price includes fees associated with course. Textbook required and available for purchase in the BPCC Bookstore. Course runs Mondays through Thursdays. Must register in advance. Must pay at time of registration.
